The foundation for SmartCloud was laid in Q1 2023, when devicethread initiated its first outreach to Cloudbeds through Janet Jaiswal (via Manoj Goel). This was followed by early product demonstrations and technical deep-dives with Sebastien Leitner in March 2023, including the first discussions around API-level integration. By September 2023, the collaboration advanced into a formal reseller agreement with Cloudbeds — validating the need for a unified operational intelligence layer across hotel infrastructure.
