This milestone reflects devicethread's continued expansion across the US hospitality landscape and the growing demand among independent hotels for streamlined, reliable access solutions that reduce operational strain without compromising guest experience.

Lightening the Load at the Front Desk

Located in Houlton, Maine, and a favorite basecamp for travelers exploring Aroostook County's ATV and snow sled trails, Ivey's Motor Lodge needed a smarter way to manage guest access as demand grew across its 50+ rooms — without adding more work for its front desk team.

With SmartAccess, Ivey's has simplified check-ins and room access, cutting down on manual key handling and reducing day-to-day dependency on reception staff, so the team can focus more on hospitality and less on logistics. The rollout included new smart lock hardware installed across the property, giving Ivey's a fully updated access system from the ground up.

SmartAccess was also integrated directly with Chapter SF's existing Cloudbeds PMS, allowing guest access to sync seamlessly with reservations and check-in data.
