Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Documentation Specialist will create, manage, and maintain comprehensive and engaging documentation for our IoT platform tailored to the hospitality industry. This role requires someone who is not only skilled in traditional documentation but also proficient in leveraging modern tools like large language models (LLMs) and multimedia content creation (e.g., short videos) to deliver innovative, user-friendly resources.
- Documentation Development:
- Create and maintain user manuals, API documentation, and troubleshooting guides for the IoT platform.
- Develop intuitive onboarding materials, quick-start guides, and FAQs for hospitality customers.
- Utilize large language models (e.g., ChatGPT) to assist in generating, refining, and improving documentation content.
- Multimedia Content Creation:
- Produce short instructional videos, tutorials, and visual aids to complement written documentation.
- Use tools like Canva, Camtasia, or similar software to create engaging and concise multimedia resources.
- Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing diagrams and flowcharts.
- Content Organization & Accessibility:
- Organize documentation into a centralized repository or knowledge base for easy navigation.
- Ensure all content is structured logically and optimized for both text and multimedia consumption.
- Create interactive, searchable documentation to enhance usability for diverse audiences across multiple languages
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, engineering, and customer support teams to gather accurate technical information.
- Collaborate with marketing and training teams to ensure documentation aligns with brand standards and customer needs.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to stay updated on product updates and future releases.
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly update documentation to reflect new features, updates, and customer feedback.
- Use LLMs to analyze user questions and identify gaps in existing documentation.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to company quality standards and is user-focused.
- Customer Enablement:
- Develop engaging, easy-to-follow content to empower each of the roles across the hospitality industry to use the platform effectively.
